At DENSO Corporation, Hiroshi Naganawa led the development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) from their earliest days, taking several world-first products into mass production and heading national research programmes. He coined the Japanese term for "driver assistance system". He went on to lead R&D operations in China, the United States and Israel, establishing laboratories and building industry-academia-government networks.
